Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a genetic disease that affects 2-5% of US population. About 50% of the cases are relatively mild however in another 50% of patients it can affect most of the skin particularly knees, elbows, scalp, and nails. About 10-30% of patients can experience joint problems with this disease. The disease can be socially debilitating. There is no cure for Psoriasis however in the past 5-6 years dramatic progress was made in treatment of this disease. Dermatologists in almost all cases can get this disease under excellent control so people can resume their normal daily activities.
